Powerpoint 2007 "A font required by this program (Arial) is not properly registered on this system"
I installed the program last night but when I click 'Run Powerpoint 2007' it comes up with an error msg
"A font required by this program (Arial) is not properly registered on this system"
I have un-installed and re-installed 3 times but can't get past this screen
I'm running windows vista home basic
Any help would be great
Thanks

It sounds like you've got one of the bizarre problems that occasionally occurs on Windows XP and Vista, where Windows manages to corrupt the regular face Arial font.
The simplest solution is to re-install the Arial font. You can download it from various places on the web, do a search for "Arial font download" or the place I used in the past when one of my machines had this problem http://sourceforge.net/projects/corefonts/files/the%20fonts/final/arial32.exe/download

Thanks for the info Bart, I did as you said and installed the fonts again from that web link.
It was successful but when I tried running the Powerpoint software it came up with the same error msg
Any other ideas?
Thanks again

I am still waiting for the company who develop the Professor Teaches range for us to get back and say if they have any ideas.
I have to say that your problem has completely stumped everyone here.
Does you have any problems with any other programs on your computer or is it just PT Powerpoint 2007?
If possible could you open, copy and paste the contents of the file serialno.txt which will be on the root of the installation CD.

Hi,
Just to let you know that I am having the same problem, I've tried the font re-install as you have suggested but still get the same error.

I have spoken with the third party who develops the Professor Teaches range and this does seem to be a known bug. They will be sending me a patch to fix the issue shortly.
Re: Powerpoint 2007 "A font required by this program (Arial) is not properly registered on this system"
I have spoken to the developers and the instruction they have given me are:
Download the file
http://support.individualsoftware.com/faq2/downloads/Training/Tngeng.exe
to you computer.
Copy this file you've just downloaded (Tngeng.exe) to the folder that you have install the course that the message is appearing in (so in this case it will be something like "C:\Program Files\Individual Software\Professor Teaches Powerpoint 2007\" although it may be different on your computer) over-writing the existing file.
Re-run the program and it should function properly.
Hope this fixes the problem.
