Problem loading file into Pub 5 Ult
When I double-click on a dtp file it opens the program - and the file - however a window then appears which says:
Windows cannot find 'c:\Documents and Settings\John Hall\Desktop\story.dtp'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again ...
When I remove this window the file is in place and working properly. Why then does this window appear? and more important - how do I stop it appearing?

Re: Problem loading file into Pub 5 Ult
Unfortunately this is one of the bizarre Windows bugs that occasionally appears (I remember getting it on my Windows 98 computer many years ago).
The problem is down to the shell command (what Windows is doing behind the scenes when you double click on a file) having a problem or breaking.
The solution is a little bit more difficult.
The easy workaround is to open the files from within Publisher rather than double clicking on them in Windows Explorer or the desktop.
To actually fix the problem is a little bit more tricky there are lots of things which could cause it.
The usual one is that the file association has been broken.
- Open Windows Explorer and under the "Tools" menu select "Folder Options..."
- In this new dialog go to the "File Types" tab
- Scroll down the list until you find the "DTP" extension (Publisher's file extension) and click on it.
- Click the "Advanced" button (bottom-right-ish)
- This should open a new window which lists the actions
- Select the action "Open" and click on the "Edit" button
- In the "Application used to perform action" box there should something like
if not then post back what it says.
- Click "OK" to close each of the 3 dialogs in turn.
- Restart the computer and see if this solves the problem
If it doesn't solve the problem post back and we'll try something else.

Loading file problem
When I followed your instructions I found this:
"C:\PROGRA~1\GREENS~3\PUBLIS~1.exe" "%1"
I don't know if the problem has been solved yet as it only happens occasionally - however it never stops the file from loading.
Thank you.
