Problems of 4.23 resolved in 5.0 ?
Hello,
I'm using Publisher Gold 4.23 since many years (I'm an old user of Pressworks 1.03 and 2.5)
This soft is great, simple, intuitive, but...
...Publiser has a bug with gif files (crash)
...Publisher has an issue with the bottom of the layers in Powertext.
I'd found on the net others users with the same problems.
I want add that Publisher can't import png. The only way to have transparency is to use a bmp or jpg with a referent color to obtain alpha channel...
What about these problems in Publisher 5 ?
Daniel

Re: Problems of 4.23 resolved in 5.0 ?
I believe the GIF import has been fixed and has the PowerText issue, although I can't personally vouch that they have.
The trouble with PNGs is a know limitation. When I've raised the issue with the developers in the past I've been told it would require a major re-write of the rendering engine, hence why it was not done for Publisher 4.x. I know most of the ground work has been done in Publisher 5, but there was several issues that were left to be resolved when we had to "freeze" the product so the issue does still remain. It would be nice to hope that the issue will be finally fixed in an automatic update soon.
