How to SELECT Drive ? Empty How to SELECT Drive ?

Post  matt Wed Jul 15, 2009 9:28 pm

I keep trying to install on a Drive OF MY CHOICE, but the Picture Browser/ ClipArt Vol. 3 ONLY wants to install itself on my C Drive (which is Over-Loaded as it is).

CAN I select a different one, and IF SO, HOW ???

Unfortunately I don't think it is possible to change drives, but the install only uses about 1Mb of space as only the picture browser application is installed, the pictures are left on the CD.

If you don't want to install it, it is possible to just browse the pictures on the CD using Windows Explorer (or any other picture browser).

We are gradually going through and making sure that our installers do offer the choice of install location (and real choice unlike companies like Microsoft who will often install most of the files on the C: drive regardless of where the user picks).

How to SELECT Drive ? Empty Thanks !

Not really what I wanted to hear, but I truly appreciate your rapid reply !

I also appreciate learning that I can just use the CD wthout an install... but am not sure how to do that. Regardless, that would also mean not being able to use the primary functions of the program, however, would it not ? That is, sure, I can view/use the Clipart, but NOT 'run the program' ?

thanks, again,

Matt

Most of our clipart CDs are effectively two parts.
- The clipart images which are not installed and are left on the CD, and
- Picture Browser which is a lightweight (1Mb) viewer which is installed

So yes if you don't want to install the Picture Browser then you won't be able to use that program, however most programs include a image viewer which will offer you most of the same functionality, or Windows Explorer will let you view and select the files.
